Cake

Cake is a booking and business platform for tattoo artists. It lives at cake.ink. I’m the CTO.

I build the app. It runs on Cloudflare: one Durable Object per artist as the source of truth, D1 as a thin index, R2 for media and consent PDFs. I build the marketing site too. Most of my week goes there.

Artists run their books out of a group chat and a paper diary. The interesting part is not the booking form. It’s that a request has real states, and the artist’s studio is the thing that owns them.

Owning your data infrastructure eliminates the need for specialized middleware and roles is the same instinct pointed at somebody else’s business instead of my own.
